Mental Health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices.
Mental health is basically about the choices we make when dealing with our feelings, people, or stressful situations and because of this our mental health affects every part of our lives. Because it affects us so deeply, our understanding of mental health-related issues can improve our overall well-being and determine the quality of our own and others’ lives.
With this in mind, and since May is Mental Health Awareness Month, some of my students in my Junior & Senior English classes have researched different mental health disorders in order to spread awareness about these conditions. I invite you to look for their awareness campaigns on campus and to check out some of the awareness products they created here.
