I think what this proverb is saying is that in life doors will be opened to you by everyone you meet. In a way, everyone has their own role in teaching you something, small or big.
There is always something you can learn from someone and something you can learn about yourself from someone . I think the word “teacher” used here can also mean “everyone” since everyone is your teacher in their own way.
Where you are in life right now is a result of what doors you decided to go through and what doors you chose to close. This is why it is important to surround yourself with people who will keep you on track rather than those who would lead you to your own demise.
Everyday we have an opportunity to choose what doors we go through and to choose who we connect ourselves to, to open certain doors that align with our God-sent vision.
