Everyday, we have to make choices. Sometimes our choices are good and sometimes not so good. However, we make them anyway because that is what determines what we do everyday. There is a saying that my family tells me: the choices we make determines our destiny. It’s like the story Alice Adventures in Wonderland, when she comes to a crossroad with two paths, both very long roads but in different directions.

She meets up with the cat and asks, “Which path shall I follow?”

The cat answers, “That depends where you want to go. If you don’t know where you want to go, it doesn’t matter which path you take.”

Unlike Alice, I know where I want to go and what I need to do. It does matter which way I want to go because it leaves me with the destination that I want in my life. After all, what I choose to do will help me in the long run. I realize that what I know is necessary for me to live a good life, and it is not as hard as I thought it would be. I have learned that if I want to be satisfied in my life, it’s me that can do it. If I follow what everyone taught me then I will have a big and happy future ahead of me. All I really need to know about how to live and what to do, I learned from my parents. My parents taught me:

Believe in myself.

Make the right choices.

Correct my mistakes.

Work hard for what I need and want.

Help others.

Share with others.

Clean up after myself.

Don’t take things for granted.

Be grateful for everything!

Live a good life.

Help those who have a hard time and share what you have; it makes me feel good.

When you work hard, you receive all the things you need.

Always clean up after yourself even though it may not be necessary.

Think of what the world would be like if everyone just went around being kind and sharing. People would be so thankful and happy. Or even if our governments would work harder correcting the mistakes that they made and cleaning up after themselves. It’s so important that everyone in the world should believe in their choices so when they are in the world it won’t be so difficult for them.
