- The media sells tanning as the ultimate real life filter. But unlike filters, you cant just swipe this one off when real world damage starts appearing on your skin. 37% of teens didn’t know that the suns UV rays can penetrate clothing. Up to 28% of female teens and 44% of male teens report that they never use sunscreen when outdoors. Unprotected skin can start to burn in as little as 15 to 20 minutes of direct exposure. Sun rays can penetrate your skin on cloudy and hazy days too. Experiencing just five or more sunburns doubles your lifetime risk of developing skin cancer. Not using sunscreen can lead to acne scars and breakouts. Rain or shine sunscreen should still be applied
- A mandatory meeting for next year’s English 100 students is TODAY, May 26 during period 7 in the CCC. You must attend this session as we will be doing orientation and registration.
